Fluorescent polymer stains and Nile red

Polymer phases and candidate particles. Best-practice report (no single official standard found) with references below: record the method, quality controls, method-specific findings and result. Validate the method in your own laboratory and follow local regulations.

Guideline: Best practice - no single official standard: ISO; ISO 24187 (Principles for the analysis of microplastics present in the environment). Research method; ISO 24187 is contextual guidance for environmental microplastics, not a stain-specific protocol. Caution: no single published official procedure was found for this method; follow the manufacturer's instructions for use and your validated laboratory SOP.

Speak patient details or findings, e.g. "patient name Ravi Kumar, age 45, mobile 98765 43210, qc: unstained polymer not run". Or tap the small mic beside any box to fill only that box, then tap the next box's mic. Your browser asks for the microphone only once. Sign in as lab staff for AI understanding; here simple word matching is used.

Fill from microscope photo

Hold the phone camera to the eyepiece, use a microscope camera, or upload an image. AI suggests findings; nothing is filled until you tick and accept. Photograph only the smear - no patient labels.

Smear Camera — teach STAINIC to read Polymer Fluorescent Stains

Snap the smear, film or microscope field with your phone camera, or upload a microscope camera image. Photos help STAINIC learn stain patterns so it can suggest findings in future.

Mobile data / Wi-Fi

Each photo (1-12 MB) is uploaded over your internet connection. On mobile data this uses your data plan and may incur charges; prefer Wi-Fi for many photos.

How AI will use photos

Photos are kept in a separate STAINIC image library (not your storage quota) to build future recognition models. When you tap "Suggest findings", the photo is also sent to an AI model, over the internet, which proposes values; nothing is filled until you tick and accept them.

Disclaimer

Photograph only the smear / film / field — never patient names, labels, faces or documents. Photos are not linked to any patient. AI suggestions are decision-support only and must always be verified by a qualified pathologist; they are not a diagnosis or treatment advice.

Privacy, terms & disclaimers
Privacy

Patient, client and sample data entered in demo pages stays in your browser and is never stored. Data saved in the signed-in workspace is kept in your laboratory's secured database, visible only to approved staff of that organisation by role; researchers see anonymised records only. The microphone is never on in the background: a box mic switches on only when you tap it, shows a red 'Listening' badge and turns itself off within 12 seconds; hands-free Voice Commands stay on only while their red switch is on and turn off after 30 seconds of silence. Speech is converted to text by your phone or browser's speech service; for signed-in staff, when that is unclear, the short clip for that one box is sent to an AI speech model to be understood and is not stored by STAINIC. Microscope photos sent for AI suggestions must show only the smear or specimen, never patient or client identifiers. Supplier link clicks are counted by country only, without personal details. We do not sell or share personal data.

Terms of Use

STAINIC is provided to authorised laboratory professionals in clinical, veterinary, industrial, environmental, forensic and research laboratories. You are responsible for the accuracy of entries - including anything filled by voice, OCR or AI - for keeping your login private, for sharing report links and PINs only with the patient, client or treating doctor, and for complying with your institution's policies, accreditation requirements and local data-protection laws. Access may be revoked for misuse.

Medical & Professional Disclaimer

Guideline content, scores, pattern hints, auto-drafted impressions and AI suggestions from voice or microscope photos are decision-support and educational aids. They can be wrong and do not replace the professional judgement of a qualified pathologist, microbiologist, veterinarian, analyst or examiner, who must review and sign every report.

No Treatment Advice

STAINIC is a laboratory reporting tool, not a treatment website. It does not diagnose, prescribe or recommend therapy to patients. Patients should discuss results with their treating doctor.

Standards & References

Each industry (non-human) method form shows an 'Official' badge with the document it follows (e.g. ISO, ASTM, OECD, ISTA, WOAH, EPPO, pharmacopoeias, EU regulations) or a 'Best practice' badge with a caution where no single official procedure was found. STAINIC summarises the reporting elements only; it does not reproduce, replace or certify compliance with those documents. Always use the current edition, the manufacturer's instructions for use and your validated SOP, and check local regulatory limits.

Supplier Links

Reagent and supplier links are provided for convenience. Ranking and badges reflect STAINIC's editorial assessment and partnerships, not regulatory approval or a guarantee of product quality, price or availability. Verify product suitability, certificates and local registration with the seller.

Legal

Stain grading follows published standards (CLSI, WHO, NTEP, ICSH, Bethesda, CAP, ISO, ASTM, OECD and others) that remain the property of their authors and publishers. OCR is approximate and must be checked. Provided "as is" without warranty; liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.
